Anyway, I signed in to twitter and found the calling to do this fairly late in the evening, too late for my brain to function at anywhere near non-gibberish. Which is how I ended up in bed wondering how on earth I was going to come up with ten random facts. Just as well they don't have to be interesting too.
The first couple of facts are those I remember just before edging off to dreamland:
1. My first hamster was called Midge, after a character from my childhood TV viewing. I was six years old. My first tiny little pet. Awww look at the little pink feet....
2. This paved the way for my next pet; a gerbil I also called Midge (there's a pattern to this!) He was with me for four years, and once, when I spent the summer (six weeks) with relatives, he nearly pined to death for me. :(
3. Moving away from pets. As a youngster, I spent my days not reading Enid Blyton or Wind in the Willow type stories, but Doctor Who series books. My favourite being, 'The Five Doctors,' (Remember when there were only five. Can you name them?)
4. I love and adore all shades of purple, from powder lavender to royal purple.
5. When I was sixteen, I won a medal for cross country running.
6. I love the Harry Potter series, ever since being introduced to them when the second book had just been published. I also enjoyed reading Philip Pullman, His Dark Materials. I'm not a pretentious reader at all, but the book must be well-written, otherwise I lose interest.
7. I'm left-handed, and ...
8. my eyes are green. Of course, if I'd lived in the fourteenth century, I'm sure I'd have been hung for being a witch, as I also have a fluffy black cat.
9. My first computer was a Vic20, bought in 1982 - I still have it, and it works!
10. When I'm not writing, I love to paint.
So there you have some very random facts about me - well the ones I want to share, anyway. Thanks to Ali for tagging me, and now I'm gonna randomly tag some more fellow writers.
Tag, your turn to give some random facts about you: J.R. Williams, Lisa Potts, Juliet Greenwood (for her lovely new blog), and Ozlem Yikici

Allie, you are a painter too? This is great! I love how you still have your first computer too. :) These random facts are a great way to get to know someone.
Now I need to come up with something and tag a few bloggers ;) *puts on thinking cap*
Thanks for the tag! I was drawing a blank for posts this week and you just filled one. Beautiful painting!
Thanks for sharing - and carrying on the tagging torch!
Hamsters - never had one, but DD had two- so cute!

Oz. I paint for fun, and in no way would call myself a painter. I did no more than high school study at it, and I don't get to sit with my paints as much as I'd like.
Lisa. That's a win. Those blank days can be harrowing!
AliB. Thank you so much for picking me. I'd always felt a little left out before, but not anymore. :)
Allie ~
Great to see you again today! Your ten random facts were quite funny! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to wonder what to say...I have to come up with seven of them for a blogger award!
As for the kindle 'pile-up'...ha ha..If all my kindle books were in this house in print, I may be buried alive! My husband bought me a kindle and begged me not to bring any more books home unless I was willing to part with some...lol. I've taken over the place with bookshelves. So, you see, we're in the same boat! Have a great day ~ Nadja
The Vic still works?! Haven't seen one in action for twenty years!
Surely it's the last of it's kind ;)

It's great to learn more about you, Allie. I love the color purple too, and you know I love Harry Potter. I can't believe you still have a 30 year old computer! That belongs in a museum. :-)
I am so jealous, all I had was a Brother Word Processor. It cost as much as a month's rent and weighed 700 pounds. Did you paint the ocean scene? Because it is amazing. I love the colors.
Nadja. Great to see you too. The Kindle is just way too handy. I am going to have to seriously limit the amount of books I buy. I'm going into overload trying to read them all and write! :)
Eliot. Yes, I have a Vic20 in working order. Every so often I get it out and load up some awesome games!
Susan. Crikey! I hadn't thought about how old the computer was before. It was my most cherished childhood 'toy'.
Julie. This isn't my painting, but it is beautiful isn't it? It's very similar to the sort of thing I have tried to paint in the past, which is why I chose it for my signature painting picture.
Vic 20! That was one of my first computers, too!
Lol. They were fab, weren't they?
Hamsters are fun little pets. Love the list. Is the background on your blog a painting of yours? And hello from a writer in your Adult all genres - group 17.
Ooh. Hello Joelle. No. The background is a standard blogger one. I can't upload pictures without them looking fuzzy, so I haven't tried for a while. I love hamsters, but my daughter is allergic to them.
The fact that you said Vic20 totally made me squeal. I've got a working Vic20 too! I love those old cartridge games. I was always a fan of Jupiter Lander and Mountain King, woo!
My favourite game was Jetpac. I love my Vic20 computer. It has to be my prized possession. And the games that you got with it: Hoppit (frogger), Blitz!
How cool! My first computer was a VIC-20, also.
Random but fun! I'm following you now. I also like to paint in my spare time
Michael. Great to see you again. The Vic20 was lots of fun, yes.
Tracy. This is the first fun post I've done for a while, so yes, it was great to be so random. I wish I had more time to paint, but that would mean less time writing - it's always a delicate balancing line to tread.
Ha! See Alison tagged you too. Great facts and fun and love the pictures you've included. and see you like to paint. I do too. If you've a moment, and fancy a giggle, pop over to my blog and see what random facts about me Alison forced me to divulge. http://wp.me/1q0nb
We will have to get our own back.
